I took my items to this business at the beginning of August for consignment. It took them a week to send me an itemized list of my items and the selling prices. They told me if they sell items in August they'll send me my pay by the next month (Sept). They proceeded to sell some of my items and when I asked for my payment of the items they co-signed to sell for me, they kept informing me they have these events to do so the money they owe me wasn't important enough for them to keep their agreement. Which they already sold my items, they just didn't want to pay me for them. Then I brought another big item at that time also and they were suppose to blow it up and display it to sell but instead they're doing nothing with it and stuck it in the corner and aren't displaying it to sell. They've told me several different things about how they sell and how they pay for their consignments. This is my first time dealing with this company but I won't be again because I don't like how they're operating and they make it seem as if the items they've sold of mine aren't important enough to pay me for because they have other things/events going on.

I have been in dire straights lately and needed to sell some stuff quickly. Thomas was very friendly and extremely helpful! He helped me through a rough time by getting my stuff sold and getting the money to me asap. They always have new equipment passing through and it moves quickly. Visit often!

Sells used outdoor gear. Trash and treasure/ diamond in the rough kinda place. Some good deals but a lot of consignment with sellers putting up some pipe dream prices on used gear. Proceeds support clean water initiatives so well worth the trip.

Great establishment. This local nonprofit consignment shop uses its proceeds to fund clean water projects in the Tennessee and Caribbean Sea area. Inventory can vary widely & every once in awhile you'll find a great gem. Definitely a place to visit if you're traveling through or want to see a glimpse of Chattanooga's outdoor atmosphere!

The Gear Closet is an excellent source for used outdoor gear and apparel. Their inventory is derived exclusively from donated and consigned items, which is great because as a non-profit this enables them to focus all of their proceeds towards benefiting clean water projects, both right here in Chattanooga as well as several ongoing projects in the Caribbean. With such a beautiful, outdoor oriented, city this establishment is ideally placed and suited. Some of their items are heavily used, but when this is the case the prices are definitively a bargain. Other items are brand new, or have hardly ever been used, which is perfect for the bargain conscious shopper. The Gear Closet comes highly recommended to anyone and everyone!
